Cultural Diversity
We are welcoming our 3rd quarter with an exciting interdisciplinary unit. This teaching method focuses on the simultaneous instruction of a specific theme across different content areas. Our group chose the theme of "Cultural Diversity" because it was one of the central themes found in the book, "Under the Blood Red Sun" written by Graham Salisbury.
The phrase "cultural diversity" means a range of different societies or people with different origins, religions and traditions all living and interacting together. The food we eat, the music we listen to, and the clothes we wear have all been influenced by different cultures.
This website highlights a 3-week interdisciplinary unit plan based on cultural diversity that will showcase interconnected activities in subject areas such as math, language arts, science, social students, and fine arts.
