Description:
After completing all activities in this interdisciplinary unit of cultural diversity, students will take part in a grade-wide multicultural festival located in our school's gymnasium on Friday, January 23, 2015. Festivities will include a cultural celebration of music numbers, cultural showcases, cultural delicacies, and a cultural fashion show.
After completing all activities in this interdisciplinary unit of cultural diversity, students will take part in a grade-wide multicultural festival located in our school's gymnasium on Friday, January 23, 2015. Cultural Performances
Students will perform cultural songs, dances, and special numbers representing different cultures. Some of these performances include Tinikiling (Philippines), Odori (Japan), Jobwa Stick Dance (Marshall Islands), 'Ote'a (Tahiti), and much, much more!
Cultural Delicacies
Students grouped according to their ethnicity, each group will bring to the class their culture's best meals to showcase. After presentations, students will reflect on the activity by sharing their thoughts on each of the dishes.

Cultural Showcase
![]() Students will showcase their artwork from their Fine Arts classes on the back tables of the gymnasium. Some artwork includes paintings of student family names in Japanese symbols and cultural relics created from recyclable materials. Students' video projects of traditional weddings will be projected on a screen for students, teachers, and visitors to enjoy. Cultural poster boards as well as family heirlooms and cultural artifacts will be on display for all to see.
Cultural Fashion Show Students divided according to their cultural identities will showcase their cultural outfits in a fashion show. Models will be sure to give a brief description of their culture, explain what it is they are wearing and any other interesting information about their ensemble.
