Social science is the collection of academic disciplines which study any aspect of social behavior and the functioning of society. This fluid term is generally used to describe any field of scholarship outside of the hard sciences. The narrowest definition is simply the study of human interaction and organization.

Based on Graham Salisbury's history novel, Under the Blood Red Sun, students will focus on the meanings of Japanese symbols, the history and uses of Japanese traditional clothing called kimono, and the art of origami.
